Adult Skills Budget
The Adult Skills Budget is intended to respond to the needs of learners, communities and employers, with a particular focus on driving up the number of Apprenticeships and supporting the unemployed to help them move into work.
The Adult Skills Budget can be delivered via classroom or workplace learning, with this in mind training organisations now have the same flexibilities as colleges and can deliver provision which was previously known as Adult Learner Responsive.
This includes the delivery of eligible QCF units, on a fully funded (fee remitted) basis for those who are unemployed to gain skills to get into work from August 2011.
To deliver provision under the Adult Skills Budget, NTN would act as a lead contractor for local providers. NTN draws down funding from the Skills Funding Agency and subcontracts the provision to its members.
NTN are responsible for the management of the Adult Skills Budget contract and have procedures and processes in place that support the network providers in delivering Apprenticeships, Workplace Learning and Programmes for the Unemployed. This quality assured training meets the needs of the employers (if applicable), learners and the Skills Funding Agency.
