NTN and Provider Case Studies

 

   NTN BLS provides the following services for learners and providers/employers:
  • Learner Initial Assessment & Planning of Learning Provision including:
    • Literacy and Numeracy Diagnostic Assessment
    • Dyslexia Screening and Assessments
    • Motivational, Attitudinal & Personal Styles Assessments
    • Individual Learning Plans (& Templates)
    • Annex E (for claiming ALN/ASN funds)
  • Development and delivery of specialist and bespoke programmes for young people:
    • The Excel-Erate programme was developed to support Year 10 to 13 learners who were identified as possibly not going to achieve a minimum of 5 GCSE’s of grade C and who’s personal development would be enhanced by following a vocational curriculum. The young people undertook vocational learning at level 2 along with basic and key skills assessments with a work based learning training provider. Programmes followed included Child Care Learning and Development and Animal Care.
    • Choices was targeted at year 9 learners at the point of choosing their options. This programme delivered a series of interactive events to encourage vocational curriculum choices and progression post 16 to WBL. Parental involvement was encouraged through question and answer sessions as part of the activities
    • Get On was targeted at the Year 11 cohort and included a one day course held at schools covering what an apprenticeship is, how an apprenticeship works and how to apply for an apprenticeship. It included CV building and interview techniques, to give young people the best opportunity of getting a job, as well as the inclusion of a provider to deliver a short interactive taster session.
