Response to Redundancy

The aim of this project is to ensure that capacity is in place to enable providers to respond to redundancies and the employment implications of the present economic climate, and to fill gaps in mainstream LSC funding for individuals under notice of redundancy or who have been made redundant.

Why NTN?

NTN is a not for profit, membership based organisation.  Our network consists of 7 local colleges, 8 national training providers; 17 local training providers; 2 local authorities; and 5 support organisations - all involved in delivering work based learning, apprenticeships and support for c.8000 learners, servicing and  supporting over 6000 local businesses.  We  work closely with our local key partners; LSC, GOEM, Job Centre Plus, Connexions, AimHigher, City and County LA, GNLP, NNLP, NEBA and Enable to ensure the right connections are made to increase economic and individual wellbeing in Nottinghamshire.

image 3WBL Providers not only support LSC deliver its Skills Strategy but also service the Work-Force Development needs of employers by customising training with a demand led offering. The WBL provision covers the full range of occupational sectors:Land Based; Construction; Engineering Technology & Manufacturing; Business Administration & Management Professional; Information & Communication Technology; Hospitality, Sports and Travel; Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy; Health, Social Care & Public; English Languages & Communications; And Foundation Learning.

WBL incorporates government funded programmes from pre-16 Student [Young] Apprenticeships & Work Related Learning [such as Work To Qualify] to post-16 Apprenticeships and Advanced Apprenticeships and Train 2 Gain, alongside various ESF projects; delivering outcomes that include NVQs [levels 1,2,3 & 4], ESOL & basic skills [literacy, numeracy, ICT], Key Skills & Technical Certificates. The recent development and introduction of the foundation degree provides greater opportunity for people to attain higher skills and education through a work based learning route.
