The 'Requirements for Funding Train to Gain 2007/08' guidance has been amended and Version 3 has just been published.

 The only material changes from version 2 relate to extending the eligibility for volunteers and the self-employed, as stated on page 3.  These changes can be implemented immediately.

What is Train To Gain?

Train to Gain (T2G) is a service to help businesses across England get the training they need to succeed and stay successful.  The introduction of Train to Gain is a major step-change in enabling employers to develop the skills of their employees and, in doing so, improve business performance.
A Train to Gain learner is an adult learner [19+] whose learning is enabled, sponsored or facilitated by their employer. To be eligible for Train to Gain learners must not have achieved NVQ Level 2 or equivalent. Learners can also do a basic skills in Literacy and Numeracy qualification before progressing onto Level 2.
To deliver this funding NTN act as the lead for a consortia of local providers. NTN draw down funding from the LSC and are in partnership with 18 consortia members who deliver all key training sector areas including:


NTN are responsible for the management of this contract and have in place procedures and processes that enable the consortia providers to deliver level 2 (or equivalent) qualifications in the workplace . This quality assured training meets the needs of the employers, learners and the LSC.
At present the T2G consortia deliver training across East Midlands and in the first year of this contract (2006/2007) the consortia delivered training to over 800 learners and have engaged with over 250 employers.
